The vast majority of claims made at the Employment Tribunals are for Unfair
Dismissal.
|
The law on unfair dismissal exists to protect employees against dismissal at the whim
of the Employer. It is one of the cornerstones of Employment Legislation, and means
that all employers must show that not only did they have good reason for dismissing
an employee, but also that they acted fairly in the way they handled the dismissal.
In order to bring an action for Unfair Dismissal, there are a number of criteria that an
employee must satisfy. These are based on age and length of service at the company being sued.
