There are three types of unlawful discrimination on the grounds
of sex, race and disability.
|
With regard to race and sex, any act that puts an employee at a disadvantage as a
result of their race or sex, is discriminatory and unlawful. This is an absolute measure
and is not subject to any qualifying criteria.
With regard to disability discrimination, there are procedures in place to ensure that
disabled employees are fully integrated into the workplace. Whilst it is still unlawful
to subject a disabled employee to a detriment, there are also positive steps employers
are legally bound to take in order to facilitate disabled employees.
